General Artistic Director Konzert und Theater St. Gallen
Jan Henric Bogen was born in Ludwigshafen am Rhein. He studied Law and Musicology in Heidelberg and Cologne. In the course of his professional career, he has held various positions that required both artistic and administrative skills. From 2009, he was a marketing officer and musical theatre dramaturg at Theater Hagen, an artist agent in Vienna and, from 2012 to 2016, a consultant to the managing director and Chefdisponent at Staatstheater Nürnberg.
In addition to his professional activities, Jan Henric Bogen completed further training in the field of cultural management. From 2016 to 2021, he was Deputy Artistic Director at Opera Vlaanderen in Antwerp/Ghent. Among other things, he was responsible for casting and production management. From 2019 to 2021, in addition to his work in Belgium, he was Artistic Director of the Kurt Weill Fest in Dessau.
Jan Henric Bogen has taught at the Bayerische Theaterakademie August Everding, at the University of Bayreuth and at the International Opera Academy Ghent. He currently holds a teaching position at the University of St. Gallen. In the 2021/22 and 2022/23 seasons, Jan Henric Bogen was Opera Director of the Konzert und Theater St. Gallen. From the 2023/24 season, he assumed overall responsibility for the four-genre theatre Konzert und Theater St. Gallen as General Artistic Director.
